Coffee has been the favourite drink in Ethiopia nine centuries before it got to Europe. It's claimed that the name derives from the coffee growing region of Kaffe in the South of Ethiopia. This coffee was poured for my guide in a rudimentary 'coffee shop' or shack. It is the cheapest sort, wild coffee.
No coffee without frankincense! Whether at home or in a shack, burning frankincense is as much an ingredient as the coffee beans themselves.
